Western scientists praised the data on the effectiveness of the Sputnik V vaccine at 95%, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper writes. Scientists from the UK have included the drug in the "big four" vaccines with the best prospects.

A few days ago, the Gamelei Center announced the second interim result of studies on the effectiveness of the Russian vaccine. 28 days after the first vaccination, it exceeded 91%, after 42 days it reached 95%.

Scientists were not surprised by the new figures, since the initial results in the course of further tests can always be corrected.

Stephen Evans, a professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, noted that these figures were consistent with what was known from other vaccines. Another scientist, Ian Jones, professor of virology at the University of Reading, supported his colleague. In his opinion, there are no reasons for doubt here. He called Sputnik V a useful drug.

The positive evaluations from the experts are based on the knowledge that the vector method underlying the Hamalean vaccine “has been successful again and again”.
