The 9-hour concert will be held on December 4 at the Bangkok Exhibition Complex by Russian pianist Ivan Sharapov. As part of an online marathon timed to coincide with the birthday of the King of Thailand, the musician will perform works by Russian and foreign classics, according to the Facebook page of the Russian Embassy in Thailand.

The concert dedicated to the 93rd anniversary of Bhumibol Adulyadet the Great will feature works by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Mozart and other composers. The Russian pianist will open the marathon at 11:00 and play until 20:00. Admission to the event is free.

Ivan Sharapov has considerable experience in organizing music marathons, in the last three years he has twice given protracted concerts.

In 2018, the Russian presented a ten-hour program. The first piece of the concert was the royal anthem, written by the Russian composer Pyotr Shchurovsky, and the program ended with the performance of the Russian anthem.

A graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, Ivan Sharapov has been living in Thailand for several years and has been promoting Russian art in the country with his concerts.
