The auction house Christie's raised more than 11 million dollars from Russian auctions, TASS reports.

Despite the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the auction was held according to the planned schedule. They did not change the traditional format either, but they refused the presence of the public in the hall. Buyers could submit their bid by phone or online. This auction once again confirmed the high international demand for Russian art, as buyers from Hong Kong to Panama took part in it.

The most expensive lot was the painting by Konstantin Korovin - "In the Garden". Its price exceeded 1,5 million dollars, which exceeds the preliminary cost by five times. Another work by Korovin, "French Port in Summer", was sold for $ 330,000, and the "Midnight in Paris"  miniature - for more than $46,000.

Among the top lots was a painting by Mikhail Nesterov - "Holy Lake". The canvas was in a private collection and had not been exhibited for almost a century. Its cost reached $750,000.

Seascape by Ivan Aivazovsky, "The Tempest", was sold for almost $600.000.

All three works of Zinaida Serebryakova also found their buyers. The section of Russian painting brought the auction house more than $7,5 million.

Within the section of Russian decorative and applied arts, the top lot was a rare Soviet propaganda dish, created in 1921, according to a sketch by Rudolf Wilde.
