St.Petersburg nominated for World Travel Awards

St. Petersburg has been nominated for the World Travel Awards as a leading world cultural destination. Paris, London, Rome, New York, Beijing, Sydney, Kyoto, Venice and Rio de Janeiro are also on the list, TASS reports.

The World Travel Awards is considered the world's leading travel industry award and is called the Travel Oscar. In the past five years, St. Petersburg twice became the owner of this award as the leader of European tourism. The results of this year's award will be announced on November 27 at an online ceremony.

The head of the St. Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development Sergei Korneev said that city museums and other cultural institutions enjoyed well-deserved fame among guests from all over the world, and professionals in their field were engaged in the areas related to the reception of tourists. According to Korneev, even during a pandemic, the tourism industry of St. Petersburg continues to develop and offer new products.
