Residents of Egypt introduced to Russian traditions

The International "Acquaintance with Russian Traditions" Youth Forum was organized in Egypt, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports. Its sites have opened in Cairo, Alexandria and Hurghada. Young Russian compatriots, graduates of Russian universities and local youth who are studying Russian as a foreign language were invited to participate. All of them completely immersed themselves in the Russian cultural environment. This contributed to a greater acquaintance with the traditions and culture of Russia.

The Forum played the role of a large-scale platform where participants could use their knowledge of the Russian language and expand the communicative environment.

The program was divided into several interactive parts. One of them, entitled “Russian Health Traditions,” was dedicated to Russian cuisine. Young people learned about the culinary preferences of Russians, the benefits of traditional food and much more. They also learned how to cook a dessert created in honor of the great Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova.

Participants were attracted by a program dedicated to chess. They were told about the rules of the game, and took part in a blitz tournament.

The "Russian traditions of hospitality" module introduced the guests to the technology of making sbiten with herbs and raspberries, listened to bard songs performed by Natalia Kucher.

The "Russian aesthetics" module hosted a lecture and a master class by the famous Russian designer Igor Chapurin, who actively uses Russian ornaments in his works.
