Russia is helping African countries to fight the coronavirus pandemic, TASS reports. This time, Angola and Cape Verde received help. The plane of the Ministry of Emergency Situations delivered more than 20 tons of humanitarian cargo, including personal protective equipment, masks, gloves, suits and disinfectants.

In early autumn, the ministry delivered humanitarian aid to Zimbabwe. Before that, the charitable cargo was brought to the Central African Republic (CAR). In the capital of the country, the city of Bangui, the plane was met by the head of state. From Bangui the plane of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will go to Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of Congo. The total weight of the humanitarian cargo delivered to Africa reached 25 tons.

Assistance is provided by order of the Government of the Russian Federation. The authorities have allocated almost 70 million rubles to the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the purchase and delivery of materials needed to fight the coronavirus for Cape Verde, Angola and Afghanistan.
