Russia plans to introduce new support measures for those who want to return from abroad under the program to assist the voluntary resettlement of compatriots to the Russian Federation, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper writes.

In particular, the state will pay compensation to some categories of repatriates. Among them are large families who move to the territory of priority settlement. They will be reimbursed for the cost of paying the state duty for notarization of translations of documents. All program participants and members of their families are compensated for the costs of transporting property by car from their place of residence to the place of registration in Russia.

An increased amount of state guarantees is provided for those compatriots who have chosen the territories of priority settlement. Since the beginning of 2020, this status has been assigned to the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. Three months ago, repatriates were also granted the right to receive a housing subsidy.

In addition, the membership certificate will now be valid for five years, rather than three years. This will minimize the risks associated with the relocation of compatriots.

This year, the list of family members of the state program participant has been expanded. The foster parents of the program participant and his spouse received the opportunity to move to Russia. All adult family members of the repatriate received the right to independently participate in the state program. It has become more accessible to obtain Russian citizenship: the amendments made to the procedure for its acquisition have excluded the requirement to renounce other citizenship held by compatriots.
