New Russian films to be screened in three cities of Australia

Australian moviegoers will see 8 Russian films released shortly before or during the pandemic. Screenings will take place in November in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth as part of the Russian Renaissance Film Festival, the Russian newspaper Edinenie reports.

The first to host the festival is Sydney, with screenings opening on November 12 and running for a week. The program includes a new film by director Andrei Smirnov - Frenchman, a historical drama about the Decembrists - The Union of Salvation, a film about a famous Soviet football player - Streltsov.

The festival will host the world premiere of the Podolsk Cadets, the creation of which was timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. In addition, Australian viewers will be able to watch Rzhev, also released for the anniversary of the victory.

Romcom fans will be able to watch Ice-2 and Sober Driver, starring famous Russian actors.

For young viewers, the organizers included in the program the Belka and Strelka: Caribbean Mystery cartoon, which tells about the new adventures of their favorite characters.
