Moscow included in top-10 most attractive cities in terms of innovations

The Russian capital took the 8th place in the list of cities in the world in terms of innovative attractiveness. In the ranking compiled by the staff of the Institute for Statistical Research and Economics of Knowledge of the Higher School of Economics (HSE), Moscow outstropped Berlin, Seoul and many other megacities, TASS reports.

The Russian capital has become the world leader in the pace of digital infrastructure development. The authors of the study point out that no other city in the world has such a number of access points to wireless Internet as Moscow does (more than 36,000). In terms of the availability and low cost of the Internet, the Russian capital is also among the leaders.

It is also reported that Moscow topped the rating of cities in the world by the number of scientific and technological parks - there are 39 of them in the Russian capital. In addition, Moscow entered the top 5 in terms of the number of leading universities.

The index of innovative attractiveness was compiled for 36 cities of the world, 120 indicators were taken into account, including technological development, cost of living, safety, affordability of doing business, and others. The first five places were taken by New York, London, Tokyo, Beijing and Paris.
