Over 50 countries interested in Russian COVID-19 vaccine

More than 50 countries are interested in the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, RIA Novosti reports. According to Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), there have been many requests, many states want to join clinical trials.

In particular, on the eve of October 11, the Ministry of Health of the United Arab Emirates supported the conduct of the third phase of clinical trials of the Russian drug in the country. Kirill Dmitriev added that the fund expected to announce the recruitment of volunteers.

The third phase of clinical trials will cover several states in the next few months. Deliveries of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus were negotiated with Bolivia. Venezuela is the first non-CIS country to test the Russian Sputnik V vaccine. It is planned to attract 2,000 volunteers to them.

According to Dmitriev, confidence in the Russian vaccine is growing all over the world, including the countries of Latin America. He noted that tests could take place in Brazil, India, the United Arab Emirates and other states. 25 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine will be shipped to Nepal.
