The exhibits that were stolen by the Nazis from Soviet museums during the Great Patriotic War will be returned 75 years after the victory. All these years antique rarities were in the collection of the Salzburg Museum. They were taken out of the Krasnodar Territory in 1943, the Pobeda RF website reports.

Prior to that, three antique vases and five bas-reliefs were kept in Temryuk, in the local historical and archaeological museum.

The initiative to return the rarities belongs to the director of the museum Martin Hochleitner. He came up with this idea about a year and a half ago. To date, all documents have already been signed.

The head of the Russian embassy in Austria Dmitry Lyubinsky discussed the transfer of valuables with the head of the federal state of Salzburg Wilfried Haslauer and the director of the Salzburg Museum. During the negotiations, the Austrian authorities confirmed that the exhibits would be returned by the end of 2020. The ceremony is scheduled for next month, it will be held in Salzburg.
