The Russian team has won the International Physicists Tournament (IPT), the website of the Ministry of Education and Science reports. Russia was represented by MIPT students, who had to compete with the Ukrainian and American teams in the final stage.

The tournament ended on September 27, it was held online. University students from ten countries fought for the victory.

The national team included Ivan Polonik, Dmitry Spinov, Herman Karnup, Artyom Sukhov, Ivan Kolesnikov and Elena Zvorygina. Ivan Polonik was recognized as the most productive player, he scored the highest number of points. Artyom Sukhov has the highest scores received in the final report.

Physicists' tournament involves solving problems from different branches of science. In contrast to subject Olympiads, tasks become known long before the competition itself. Their solutions represent real physics research. Participants first need to get data from experiments, then build a physical model of the process. The best solutions are determined during the "battles". Some of them are made public after the competition.

The last time Russia won the IPT was in 2012.
