The Victory Dictation was written the day before, September 3, in Russia and 75 countries around the world. The international patriotic action was timed to coincide with the Day of the end of World War II, the Mir TV channel reports.

The Victory Museum became the central platform for the dictation. Another site in Moscow was organized by the Russkiy Mir Foundation, and their total number exceeded 11,000.

The dictation was started by the head of the Russian Historical Society Sergei Naryshkin. According to the organizers, such actions foster patriotism and attract young people to study their history. The assignment contained 25 questions about the history of the Great Patriotic War, they had to be answered in 45 minutes.

In each region, the questions were slightly different. For the CIS countries, tasks with a regional component were developed; they relate to the contribution of the republics to the victory over Nazi Germany.

In the United States, about 50 people gathered at the Russian embassy in Washington. The dictation was also written by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation Anatoly Antonov. Several hundred more compatriots took part in the online dictation.
