In Russia, 45 vaccines against coronavirus are being developed on 14 platforms, said Alexander Gorelov, deputy director of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor. According to the specialist, the most effective and safe drug will be included in the calendar of preventive vaccinations of the population, TASS reports.

Alexander Gorelov stressed that the relevant law enshrined the rule on the freedom of choice of vaccines, which would help to select the most effective and safe drug for use during mass vaccination.

The scientist called the precautions that Russia took during the coronavirus pandemic effective and justified. According to the expert, in the event of further compliance with hygiene and other measures introduced to combat the spread of the virus, there will be no need to tighten them.

Russkiy Mir reported that the World Health Organization (WHO) announced its intention to promote the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, which was the first in the world to be registered.
