The 15th All-German Country Conference of Russian Compatriots has opened in Bonn. Representatives of compatriots' organizations from many cities in Germany are discussing issues related to preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War and the lessons of victory, according to the Russian Field.

In his welcoming letter to the conference participants, Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergei Nechaev recalled that hundreds of thousands of Soviet citizens were buried in Germany, and also noted that the associations of the Russian community strive to preserve historical memory and fight the challenges of today.

Other speakers also spoke about opposition to revanchists and cooperation with German civil society in order to prevent the tragedy of World War II. Along with historical speeches, reviews of the current socio-political situation were heard.

The speech of the veteran of the Great Patriotic War, the chairman of the Council of Veterans of Hamburg, Solomon Zilberberg, turned out to be emotional. He introduced the conference participants to the activities to preserve the historical memory held by the council.
