The Russian-speaking society in Norrkoping, Sweden, organized a literary evening dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the outstanding Russian writer Alexander Kuprin. The guests were told about the life of the writer, read excerpts from his iconic works, and also showed fragments from films based on his writings, the website of the Union of Russian Societies in Sweden reports.

The participants of the event got acquainted with the eventful biography of Alexander Kuprin. The guests were touched by episodes from the classic's difficult childhood, forced emigration and returning to their homeland in old age.

The organizers of the program told about the history of the creation of some of Kuprin's works and focused on stories and fairy tales for children. The guests saw a short performance based on The Taper and watched a fragment from The Pomegranate Bracelet movie. Last year, a similar event based on the works of Ivan Bunin was prepared in Norkoping.
