The Russian team received four awards at the International Olympiad in Informatics, according to the Russian Education website.

Russian schoolchildren won three gold and one silver medal.  Ildar Gainullin from Tatarstan, Muscovite Semyon Savkin and resident of St. Petersburg Andrei Efremov topped the competition. Egor Lifar from Moscow became second.

American and Iranian students have won the same number of awards. Thus, the Russians shared with them the second place in the medal standings.

The tournament has been held for more than 30 years, this year's competition has become the 32nd in a row. Due to the difficult epidemiological situation, the compwtition was held online. The participants had to cope with six algorithmic tasks.

According to Sergei Kravtsov, head of the Ministry of Education, all the victories of Russian schoolchildren are a matter of great pride. This is a worthy result of the work of the children themselves and their teachers.
