WorldSkills Russia final brought together more than 2,800 participants

The final of the 8th WorldSkills Russia Championship became one of the largest in its history, bringing together more than 2,800 participants from Russian regions and from foreign countries. The championship was held for the first time in a mixed online and offline format, the Russian Education website reports.

Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova noted that the WorldSkills Russia movement has taken an important place in the life of modern Russia, becoming a part of a number of national projects related to education, demography and employment.

Tatyana Golikova noted that high-level specialists are trained in modern institutions of secondary vocational education, giving young people promising competencies that allow them to compete with university graduates. According to the data presented, over the past three years, the number of students entering secondary vocational schools has grown by almost 250,000 students a year.

Education Minister Sergei Kravtsov said that the national championship makes it possible to spread WorldSkills standards not only in Moscow and large cities, but also in all regions of the country.

The championship was held in seven blocks of professions: construction and construction technologies; information and communication technologies; creativity and design; production and engineering technologies; services sector; transport and logistic; education.
