The National Electronic Library, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia, has created a mobile application, which provides free access to classics of literature, cinema and theater, the ministry's website reports.

The launch of the application was timed to coincide with the beginning of the school year, since it is intended primarily for children and young people. However, users of different generations interested in Russian culture will find a lot of interesting things on the platform.

The literary section contains classical books by Russian and foreign authors. The application gives access to over 1,000 works, hundreds of films and performances.

The purpose of the application, according to the organizers, was the desire to captivate the younger generation with reading. The program is equipped with interactive features. For example, young readers can share their impressions of what they have read with peers and post a quote on social networks.
