More than 100,000 foreign students wait for opportunity to enter Russia

Over 100,000 foreign students of Russian universities cannot yet come to Russia to start or continue their studies due to the epidemiological situation in the countries of residence. This was stated by the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov, TASS reports.

At the moment, various ministries and departments are working to ensure the opportunity for foreign students to come to their place of study. The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova informed the heads of the territorial bodies of the department that in order to allow students from abroad to enter Russia, changes will be made to the orders regulating the entry of foreign citizens.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that the issue would be resolved within a month. He noted that consultations of all relevant departments were held as part of the work on the permit.

It is emphasized that students will enter Russia in groups, observing certain quantitative indicators, the process will take several weeks.
