Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) plans to develop materials for a program, which will allow Tanzanian tourism industry workers to learn Russian, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper reports.

The head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of Russia Zarina Doguzova announced the start of the development of joint educational programs with MSU aimed at teaching the Russian language to representatives of the tourism sector.

Valery Chastnykh, deputy director of the Institute of Russian Language and Culture at MSU, talked about the positive experience of teaching Russian as a foreign language to Tanzanians. He called on Tanzanian businesses to support efforts to promote the Russian language in the country.

Moscow is strengthening ties with one of the most developed tourist countries on the continent as part of developing cooperation with African states. During the videoconference, the issues of training personnel for the tourism industry in Tanzania and training personnel in the Russian language were discussed, which could lead to an increase in the number of Russian tourists to the African state.
