Architects from 24 countries applied to rennovate Saratov

Architects from 24 countries have sent applications to the international competition for the best concept of the integrated development of Saratov. The work of specialists will be evaluated by experts from Russia and other countries, the winners will receive cash prizes, TASS reports.

Two-thirds of the applications out of the 67 submitted for the competition belong to foreign specialists. Architects from the USA, Great Britain, France, India, Mexico and many other countries wish to participate in the modern development of Saratov. Russia is represented by 24 professional teams.

The purpose of the competition was to develop a concept for the integrated development of the former Saratov airport, the Victory Park memorial complex and other areas within the city and its suburbs.

In the first round, the organizers will name five participants who will develop the concept. At the final stage, the winner will be selected from the two finalists through a vote of residents.
