Russian schoolchildren win team event at European IT competition

The Russian team has brought four medals from the European Olympiad in Informatics among juniors, the sdelanounas website  reports. The tournament took place in the Georgian capital. Due to restrictions aimed at combating coronavirus infection, it was carried out online.

The Russian students have won one gold and three silver. medals. The best was a resident of Kazan Valery Rodionov. He also finished second in the individual championship. Daniil Klisch from the Chelyabinsk region, as well as Muscovites Dmitry Gnatenko and Alexander Klimchuk received silver awards.

Their achievements allowed the Russian team to get ahead of everyone else in the medal standings.

The European Junior Olympiad in Informatics has become the fourth in a row this year. Young programmers from European countries were among its participants. Each team brings together four people no older than 15 years old. They are selected based on the results of national competitions. In Russia, this is the All-Russian Olympiad in Informatics.

The competition consists of two stages. On each of them, the team needs to cope with three tasks in four hours.
