The concert dedicated to the anniversary of the end of WWII brought together Russian and American musicians, Kultura TV channel reports. They performed works created by composers from the Soviet Union, USA, Great Britain and France during the war. The concert took place online.

The Music of WWII project was organized by the American Embassy in the Russian Federation. The program included sonatas, folk songs, arias from Broadway musicals and more.

Conductor Mark Mandarano compared the concert to the actions of the Allies during the war years. Different nations, overcoming differences in ideology and outlook on life, united for an important goal, he explained.

The concert was filmed on three sites at once in two countries. Performers from the United States sang in New York's St. Paul's Church, Russian singers - in the Moscow residence of American diplomats. The Men's Jewish Chapel under the direction of Alexander Tsalyuk entered the stage of the Moscow Conservatory, and the audience of the Bolshoi Theater Youth Opera Program joined them. Famous young pianists Andrei Gugnin and Polina Osetinskaya also performed at the concert.
