The Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine will be produced in India, RIA Novosti reports. According to Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), a corresponding agreement has already been signed with Indian companies. More than 300 million doses of the drug will be produced annually.

Indian experts have studied the effect of the vaccine. They received answers to all the questions they had, Dmitriev explained. He noted that there was active support of Indian scientists in this regard. The head of the RDIF expressed confidence that India could become a center for the supply of vaccines, and not only Russian ones, but others as well.

The expert explained that the fund received requests for the supply of more than a billion doses of Sputnik V. Requests come from different countries, Dmitriev added. Being engaged in the production of vaccines together with the Indian side, Russia will be able to satisfy all requests, the head of the RDIF is sure.

The Russian coronavirus vaccine will be supplied in large quantities as early as next month. Health Minister Mikhail Murashko promised that the largest vaccine deliveries would begin in late autumn, most likely in November or early December. According to the head of the department, it will be possible to dilute the time of vaccination against influenza and coronavirus infection.

The head of the department recalled that, in addition to Sputnik V, which has already been registered, there are several more drugs under registration.
