Russia allocated money for medical equipment for Lebanon

Russia is allocating money for the World Health Organization (WHO) to purchase medical equipment for Lebanon, TASS reports. According to the deputy head of the RF Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Chupriyan, WHO will provide assistance to Lebanon, whose capital was damaged by the explosion.

The high-ranking representative of the department arrived in Beirut, he got acquainted with the scope of work allocated to rescuers. The head of the General Directorate of Civil Defense of Lebanon, Raymun Khattar, handed him a letter of gratitude and words of gratitude for his assistance.

Russian specialists on Friday, August 14, began to leave the destroyed Beirut. The employees of the Rospotrebnadzor laboratory have already returned home. The equipment was sent home on the same flight.

Doctors provided assistance to more than half a thousand people. According to Sergei Vorontsov, head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry's task force in Lebanon, the mobile hospital in Beirut began operating on August 6. He added that every day, doctors treated from one hundred to 150 patients, and their number grew day by day. Most of the victims were wounded by glass fragments, some were injured by heavy objects. The Russian team is made up of specialists in various fields, including surgeons, neurosurgeons, traumatologists and anesthesiologists.
