Foreign students of Russian universities who cannot return to their studies due to closed borders will be helped to return to Russia in the face of a pandemic and current restrictions.

According to the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, work is now underway to amend the orders of the Russian government regarding the return of foreign students, TASS reports.

Amendments to the documents regulating the entry of foreign citizens are reported in a letter from Anna Popova to the heads of the territorial bodies of the department. It is indicated that the changes may affect people who want to start studying at Russian universities or continue their studies from September 1.

The changes will affect students from states with visa and visa-free regimes. The letter also states that students from abroad will be required to present a medical document confirming a negative test result for COVID-19.
