The Days of Military and Historical Cinema will start in Moscow on September 2, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper writes. The International Film Forum will become the 2nd in a row. It will be held in the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill. The works of Russian and foreign directors will also be screened at the World Trade Center.

According to the organizers, this year the festival was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the legendary Soviet director Sergei Bondarchuk. The screening of his famous feature They Fought for the Motherland is timed to this date. The work of Sergei Bondarchuk will be the closing film of the festival.

The festival program includes films shot by cinematographers from Russia, Israel, Brazil, Great Britain. Igor Ugolnikov, Igor Prokopenko, Leonid Yakubovich, Valdis Pelsh and Alexey Filatov will present their films. The organizers have also prepared a large-scale educational program for the audience.

Last year, within the framework of the Days of Military and Historical Cinema, the public saw seven new films from Russian cinema, as well as films from European and Latin American countries. The festival was attended by several thousand spectators.
