A memorial sign dedicated to the feat of the heroes who saved the world from nazism has appeared in Toronto, Canada, the Victory RF website reports. The administration of the country's largest city installed it in a park next to the Russian House.

The Consulate General of the Russian Federation expressed gratitude to the Association of Veterans of the Great Patriotic War and a member of the Toronto City Council, James Pasternak.

According to Russian diplomats, the opening ceremony of the memorial was postponed to a later date due to security concerns.

Earlier, a collection of memoirs of veterans was released in Toronto in early summer. The new book is dedicated to the history of the Great Patriotic War. The memoirs of members of the Canadian Association of World War II Veterans from the Soviet Union are collected under one cover. They talk about their front-line roads and the lives of Soviet people in the rear.
