A large online forum entitled "Russian-Japanese Cooperation: New Challenges, New Reality" will be held at the initiative of the Ulyanovsk region in early September. The Japanese Cultural Wave Festival will open in Ulyanovsk on September 4.

The festival will take place within the framework of the Cross Year of Russia and Japan in regional, interregional and municipal exchanges. According to Tatiana Ivshina, Advisor to the Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region on International Humanitarian Cooperation, economic cooperation between countries is tightly linked to cultural interaction.

The head of the region Sergey Morozov called Japan one of the priority partner states of the region and noted that several Japanese industrial enterprises were opened in the region. The governor emphasized that during the pandemic, communications between the Ulyanovsk region and the prefectures of Japan became closer.

Japanese Ambassador to Russia Toyohisa Kozuki expressed his hope for further economic and cultural cooperation between the Russian and Japanese regions in his welcoming telegram.
