The Stories about Belka and Strelka book will be handed over to Russian schools of continuing education in the UK. This was reported on the page of Friendly Planet Festival on Facebook.

According to the author of the book, Elena Geddis, it is created for bilingual children aged 7 to 10 years. Several short stories are accompanied by color illustrations. In addition, the stories are complemented by assignments. The book will be of interest to children and also useful to teachers of the Russian language. The publication can be used not only in the classroom, but also in extracurricular activities.

The author recalled that August 19 marks the 60th anniversary of the first successful flight into space.

The dogs spent more than a day in near-earth orbit. During this time, the spacecraft circled the Earth 17 times and landed safely.
