Russia is ready to provide humanitarian aid to Beirut

Russia is going to increase the number of doctors who work in a mobile hospital in the Lebanese capital, TASS reports. In the first two days, they were able to treat almost 100 people.

According to Sergei Vorontsov, who heads the Emergency Situations Ministry's task force in Beirut, the possibility of sending additional medical personnel is currently being studied.

Another topic for study was the delivery of humanitarian aid to Beirut. It is planned that long-term storage food products, other essential goods and construction materials will be brought from Russia. The rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation continue to conduct rescue operations at the site of explosion, they go around the clock in three shifts.

Russian surgeon Valery Mitish, who arrived in Beirut with his colleagues, said that Russian specialists were primarily engaged in consultations.

He noted that Russian doctors examined the victims in five hospitals, selected those in the most serious condition. . Three surgeries have already been scheduled, and they will be carried out very soon together with the Lebanese colleagues.

Most of the victims were injured by glass fragments, some were injured by heavy objects.

Mitish added that the Russian team was made up of various specialists, including surgeons, neurosurgeons, traumatologists and anesthesiologists.
