Teams from 30 countries to take part in International Army Games

More than 160 teams will join the International Army Games, which will start on August 23. They will represent 30 countries, Interfax reports.

All participants in the International Army Games will be quarantined before the start of the tournament, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu assured. According to him, they will spend two weeks in self-isolation. All of them will also have to take COVID-19 tests.

The military department previously assured that they were taking all possible measures to protect the participants in the large-scale event from coronavirus infection. Strict medical requirements apply during the preparation of the competition. All training takes place in the open air, a number of field camps has been created in case of possible contamination.

24 contests will take place on Russian territory. Belarus will host two competitions - Polar Star and Sniper Frontier. Uzbekistan will host the Military Medical Relay and Road Patrol. Azerbaijan will host Sea Cup, and Armenia - Warrior of the World.

The conditions for holding competitions this year have changed. The difficulty level has increased with the experience gained in Syria and during other armed conflicts. The games have acquired the status of a major international event, their popularity is increasing every year, not only the number of participants is growing, but also the number of fans of the tournament.
