The Russian military plans to visit about 30 Syrian settlements and distribute humanitarian aid to them, TASS reports. According to the Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties, the residents of Syria will receive more than 60 tons of food. This humanitarian action is timed to coincide with the Eid al-Adha holiday.

Muslims celebrate the holiday for several days. The humanitarian action will continue for the same number of days. The first points of delivery are already working.

Eid al-Adha is one of the most important Muslim holidays. Muslims sacrifice an animal in memory of how the prophet Ibrahim was ready to sacrifice his son Ismail to the Almighty. The holiday also marks the end of the Hajj - a pilgrimage to the main Muslim shrines.

According to the military, when preparations are underway for such events, a variety of nuances are taken into account, including cultural and religious traditions, local mentality. The command, having studied the needs of the population and the current situation, decided to increase the amount of humanitarian aid. The population will receive cereals, tea, flour.

In many localities, literally everyone needs help. Many have lost their relatives and friends, often there are no jobs, houses and infrastructure have been destroyed.

Russian military personnel carried out almost 2,500 humanitarian actions, during which more than 130,000 people in need received over 4,000 tons of food, water and basic necessities. In addition, military medics have provided assistance to 130,000 Syrians.
