Large-scale restoration work was completed at the memorial to the fallen Soviet soldiers at the military cemetery in Brno. The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Czech Republic informs about it on its Facebook page.

The memorial was supplemented by almost 30 memorial plates, more than 3,000 names of soldiers who died during the liberation of Czechoslovakia from the Nazis were carved on them. All work was carried out with funds allocated by Russia. The inscriptions on all urns with ashes and on all memorial plaques were also updated. In addition, an obelisk to the Hero of the Soviet Union, Guard Junior Lieutenant Mironov was installed at the memorial.

A lot of work was done in the country to perpetuate the memory of the fallen heroes. For a year and a half, Russian diplomats, with the assistance of the Russian Defense Ministry, have been establishing the names and destinies of Soviet soldiers resting at the largest military grave in the Czech Republic. This work was also carried out by the city authorities of Brno, the search association of school students at the Russian embassy, members of the Prague Club of Youth and Children's Diplomacy.

During this time, it was possible to establish 1,715 names of Soviet soldiers. In addition, more than 3,000 personal data were clarified to identify the victims.

The opening ceremony of the renovated memorial was postponed to early autumn due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation.
