More than 74 million Russian citizens took part in voting on amendments to the Constitution. In total, the lists included over 109 million voters. This was announced by the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Ella Pamfilova, RIA Novosti reports. The turnout was 67.97%.

On Friday, July 3, the CEC signed the final protocol on the voting, approving its results.

As a result of the processing of all the protocols, changes in the Constitution were supported by almost 58 million citizens (77.92%), while about 16 million Russians (21.27%) opposed. The CEC added that there were no complaints about serious violations.

The voting lasted from June 25 to July 1. About 145,000 Russians came to polling stations abroad. The procedure was organized in compliance with the sanitary standards prescribed for the regions of Russia and other countries.
