MSU tops national ranking of universities

More than 300 Russian higher educational institutions entered the new national rating, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper writes. The experts of the Interfax group act as its authors.

Lomonosv Moscow State University tops the list, it is followed by MEPhI (National Research Nuclear University) and MIPT (Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology). 

The top ten includes the Higher School of Economics, Novosibirsk State University, St. Petersburg State University, Tomsk State University, Tomsk Polytechnic, MISiS, Kazan Federal University.

Specialists also paid attention to private universities. Seven non-state universities were included in the ranking. 

When compiling the rating, six indicators were taken into account. Among them are educational and scientific activities, social environment, cooperation with foreign universities, brand, new technologies and technological entrepreneurship.

Information was collected from questionnaires, which were answered by representatives of universities and institutes, and open sources, including the websites of universities, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and others.
