The celebrations will kick off on July 24 in Sydney with a gala reception. Senior clerics from Australia and New Zealand, including Bishop George of Canberra, Vicar of the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand, are among the guests. The presence of Russian Ambassador to Australia Alexei Pavlovsky and other representatives of the diplomatic corps is also expected.
The Russian Orthodox male choir from Australia will perform at the reception. It is headed by Nektariy Kotlyarov. The creative team will perform works by Russian composers. According to the organizers, the choir members are descendants of the first wave of emigrants who were forced to leave their homeland after the October Revolution. All of them carefully preserve their love for Russia, cherish Russian traditions and culture.
The opening of the exhibition of historical photographs of Nicholas II and the royal family will be timed to coincide with the celebration. It tells about the life and tragic death of the family of the last Russian emperor.
