Russian tourists can soon be able to visit eight countries, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Maya Lomidze, who holds the post of executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), this list includes the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Maldives, Turkey, Egypt, the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Croatia. She noted that all these destinations were popular among Russian tourists.

The head of the ATOR noted that there were some restrictions in all of these countries. For the most part, it is a requirement to provide a medical certificate of a negative coronavirus test.

Most likely, the list of countries that are ready to open borders for tourists from Russia will increase over time. In a couple of days it will be clear what Abkhazia decided. Also, decisions will be made by Italy and Spain.

Russia may begin international air service on July 15. It is planned that airplanes will fly only to places where the number of cases does not exceed one percent per day, and also where, in a two-week period, the average number of infected people does not exceed 40 people per 100,000.

An extension of the list of countries where flights are allowed will be discussed every two weeks. The level of epidemiological danger will be taken into account.
