Museum of world garden art to appear in St Petersburg

The Museum of world garden art will complement the exposition of the Peterhof Museum-Reserve, located near St.Petersburg, TASS reports.

According to Elena Kalnitskaya, who heads the museum, the work on its creation is planned to be completed in 2020. She noted that the staff of Peterhof are already engaged in the organization of a new museum.  It will be located in the Great Greenhouse of the Lower Park. The theme of the museum will be the history of gardens and parks, its exposition will cover not only the museum reserve, but also other famous gardens and parks of the world.

The exhibition will be based on archival materials. They were picked up by employees during self-isolation. The documents indicate that they planted in Peterhof parks, which plants and where they brought from. In fact, the director of Peterhof specified, a museum of the history of parking will appear.
