The Nokhcho State Folklore Ensemble was recognized as the best at the World Folk Vision Festival of Cultures and Art. The famous Chechen song and dance ensemble won the Choreography nomination, TASS reports.

This year, the festival was held online due to restrictions aimed at combating coronavirus. The Chechen team presented to the jury and the public records of 8 performances, all of them clearly reflecting the national customs and traditions of the Chechens.

Representatives of 80 countries included in the jury conducted a rigorous selection of participants. The Chechen dancers scored the most points in the choreographic nomination.

Dina Shagidaeva, the head of the team, emphasized that the victory in such a large-scale humanitarian project was a great success for the dancers, and became a good motivation for them. Next year, Nokhcho hopes to participate in the World Folk Vision in full-time format.

In February, the Nokhcho ensemble performed in Paris. The gala evening dedicated to the culture and traditions of the Chechen Republic was held as part of the Russian Seasons cultural project.
