The main prize of the Zerkalo Film Festival went to Nazir by Indian director Arun Kartik, TASS reports. The ceremony, like the whole festival, took place online.
The director thanked the audience and the jury for the high appreciation of his work. Kartik noted that no pandemic could stop the cinema.
The film tells the life story of a Muslim Nazir. He works in the Indian market to feed his wife and children. The main character has to live in an atmosphere of intolerance, but despite this he remains optimistic, writes poetry and love letters to his wife in his spare time.
Mina Mileva and Vesela Kazakova's Cat in the Wall received two awards at once. The film was marked by a jury of young critics and a jury of moviegoers. The prize for professional achievements was awarded to Lonely Rock by Alejandro Telemaco Tarraf. The prize for best director was awarded to Fernanda Valades for her feature Without Special Signs.
Russian director Gleb Panfilov received a prize for his contribution to cinema.

The festival is held every year, for almost 15 years of its existence, it has become an important event in the cultural life of the region. The film screenings are usually organized in Ivanovo, Yuryevets and other cities in the region. This year, the coronavirus infection pandemic made its adjustments. Due to restrictions aimed at combating the spread of the disease, the festival program was held online on the Tvzavr online cinema, the opening ceremony was held without guests.
