The international competition of music experts has been established by the Union of Composers of Russia together with Music Academy journal, TASS reports. Scientists from different countries studying music will be able to fight for victory. Experts no older than 35 years old who write in Russian are invited to participate. They will be able to show their skills in the analysis of classical and modern music.

A competition of this kind is held for the first time. Applications will be accepted from September 1. They can be sent within two months, until the beginning of November. Finalists will gather at the Moscow Conservatory on December 12, the winner will be selected during a scientific conference.

Yaroslav Timofeev, who heads Music Academy journal, notes that the Russian school of music studies is notable for its versatility. Every expert who has graduated from the Moscow Conservatory must know how to sing, play a musical instrument, conduct, read scores, and perform many other tasks. According to him, the organizers of the competition decided to hold the tournament on the principle of biathlon: the participants will compete in both written and oral genres.
