Russia will continue to export compatriots from abroad, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised. According to him, anyone willing to return home are able to do that, RIA Novosti reports. The head of state said this at a meeting with participants in the We Together mutual assistance rally. It took place on Friday, June 26, and was held online.

Pilot Damir Yusupov from Ural Airlines addressed the president. He recalled that about 50,000 Russian citizens are still staying in foreign countries. At the same time, getting into the number of passengers of export flights is quite difficult, since only residents of certain regions are registered for the flight.

Putin noted everyone would be taken home while observing all security measures and sanitary rules. The Russian leader noted that the epidemiological situation in the world was changing, therefore, the export of Russians could become more widespread in a fairly short time.

As reported by Russkiy Mir, over 240,000 Russian residents have returned home since the beginning of spring. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova compared the return of Russians to their homeland after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic and the ban on air travel with special operations. According to her, this process consisted of several stages and took about three months.

Today, most Russians wishing to return home remain in the countries of Southeast Asia: in India and Thailand. Some people still stay in the United States and Latin American countries.
