The results of the competition dedicated to Soviet animation have been summed up in France. It was organized and conducted by the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Paris, the agency’s website reports. The competition was held online and was timed to the anniversary of one of the founders of the Soviet animation Ivan Ivanov-Vano. This year marks the 120th anniversary of his birth. The Snow Maiden, The Little Humpbacked Horse and other popular cartoons are among his works.

Children and adults could answer questions about how they shot the first Soviet cartoons, how the Soyuzmultfilm studio appeared. Many questions concerned not only little-known pages of the development of animation, but also the unexpected aspects of cartoon art.

All participants of the quiz were able to watch The Little Humpbacked Horse by Ivanov-Vano with subtitles in French. Those who first sent the correct answers to all fourteen questions got the awards.

Those who did not have time to take part in the quiz can test their knowledge, get additional information about the history of children's animation and review the masterpieces of Soviet animation via the link.
