Young compatriots discuss consolidation of Russian-speaking youth

The consolidation of Russian-speaking youth, the creation of incentives for studying the Russian language abroad, the promotion of Russian culture - these and other issues were discussed by participants in an online conference on the role of youth diplomacy in the development of relations between nations. The meeting was held by youth organizations of Russian compatriots in Cyprus, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as well as the Kalinka International Youth Portal, the website of the Foundation for Support and Protection of Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad reports.

The conference was attended by representatives of these countries, as well as young Russian-speaking activists from the United States, Spain, Germany and Kyrgyzstan. In addition, the event was attended by participants from Malaysia and Bangladesh, studying the Russian language. The conference was included in the program of the Futurum international youth project.

Speeches by a number of participants concerned the use of modern technologies to achieve these goals. They proposed to attract interest in the Russian language and culture of Russia, as well as to demonstrate public diplomacy using online platforms and SMM technologies.
