Voting on amendments to the Russian Constitution will be held in 144 countries, RIA Novosti reports. According to the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, the voting sites will be opened for Russian citizens who permanently reside in a foreign country or are currently abroad. She added that 250 sites will work abroad.

As Russian World reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the draft law on constitutional amendments, after which the document was approved by the Constitutional Court.

The bill was submitted to a nationwide vote, which was to be held on April 22. In his address to the nation on March 25, the head of state announced that it had been decided to postpone the vote in connection with the epidemiological situation in the country. He noted that the importance of this issue cannot be overestimated, but the life and health of citizens remain a priority.

The vote on the adoption of amendments to the Constitution will be held on July 1. Russian President Vladimir Putin called for the implementation of all measures aimed at ensuring sanitary and epidemiological safety. He also expressed hope that the Russians would take an active part in the all-Russian vote.
