Russian compatriots, who contributed to the development of Russian-American relations and implemented the most significant cultural and social projects in the United States last year, will receive awards from the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in the United States, the council's website reports.

It is reported that awards will be given to those who made a significant contribution to the preservation of Russian cultural and historical heritage in the United States, the spread of the Russian language and Russian culture.

Public figures will be awarded for the development of relations between the two countries and the creation of a positive image of Russia in the United States. Applications can be submitted before the first of August, members of the council will announce the winners in three categories until autumn. Presentation will take place at a conference or a compatriot forum.
