CEC: Vote on Russia's constitutional amendments to take place abroad as well

02.06.2020

Voting on amendments to the Russian Constitution will take place not only inside the country but also abroad, although there are fewer Russians in other countries. This was announced by the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Ella Pamfilova, RIA Novosti reports.

The head of the CEC assured that all Russian consulates and structures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would provide a traditional form of voting for fellow citizens abroad.

A nationwide vote on the adoption of amendments to the Constitution is scheduled for July 1. The President expressed hope that the Russians would take an active part in the all-Russian vote. He recalled that the vote concerns the Basic Law, which “underlies the life of our country, our life, our children today and will determine the basic legal guarantees” in the field of social and labor relations, as well as “the principles of interaction with our international partners”.
