A rally in support of the monument to Marshal Konev, demolished in April, was held in Prague, according to Victory of the Russian Federation news agency. Activists gathered at the plaque to the Vlasovites to protest against attempts to rehabilitate fascist criminals.

The protest rally was initiated by Jiri Montenegrin and Joseph Skala, who lead the Honor, Freedom and Respect movement. Joseph Skala said that the activists decided to close all the objects of the Vlasov memorial dedicated to fascist accomplices with Soviet symbols of Victory. The audience attached photographs depicting the liberation of Prague by Soviet troops on the board.

The monument to Marshal Konev was adorned by Prague for forty years and was demolished a month before the 75th anniversary of the victory in World War II. The Russian Embassy in the Czech Republic saw this as a particular cynicism and called the dismantling of the monument “reprisal”. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case in connection with the demolition of the monument. The former Czech president Milos Zeman spoke out against plans to dismantle the monument, calling the situation a disgrace to the Czech Republic.

In addition, a memorial sign in honor of the Vlasovites appeared in the Czech capital. Russia condemned the installation of a memorial sign to participants in the collaborative armed group created by Nazi Germany. The Nuremberg Tribunal called the atrocities of Vlasov and his minions war crimes and crimes against humanity. In the Soviet years, the name of Andrei Vlasov was a synonym for the concept of “traitor”.
